thanks for the info - i did this:
"If you don't see the "Update startmenu in your menu, then copy the
/u/s/a/n/t/startmenu to ~/G/L/A/n/t/startmenu and restart AS, then do
the update."
but there was still no Quit-->Update startmenu.
