Animate stops animating

Hi all,
I'm running the 1.4.5.3 RPM version of AfterStep from RedHat on v5.1
I've noticed that Animate stops animating the iconification and
de-iconification of windows after a while.

It starts out correctly, animating as instructed from the ~/G/L/A/animate
file (i.e. AnimateIterations, AnimateResize, all seem correct).
However, after a while, it just stops, and the windows simply appear and
disappear, without their cool looking flipping and turning.

Restarting AfterStep (which, I assume, restarts Animate) makes it start
working again.  However, it inevitably stops again.

Any ideas?
