How do you know there are no modules?  Are you getting error messages?  If
so what are they?  The modules should be in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/afterstep.

I have installed the AS-1.0 package NUMEROUS times on my machine (in fact 
it's running at my work machine from the package).
