I've never upgraded AfterStep before, so please help me out please:

Do I have to make backups of my global config files, such as
/usr/share/afterstep/wharf, autoexec, pager etc when upgrading?  So that
I'd copy over the freshly minted config files with my backup copies?

In other words, what would be the procedure to ensure that my original
settings and configurations remain the same after the upgrade?
