Install on Solaris 2.6

I have installed AS 1.4.5.0 on a sparc-5 running solaris 2.6.  I have
not had any problems compiling and installing but when I try to run AS
it core dumps.  I have installed GNUgcc and GNUmake.  I even tried going
back and running using the /usr/ccs/bin/make but this would not even
install.

Any help would be great...
