uhh ohh - i just saw the very first part of it all. sorry. my bad.
the thing is that u installed AccelX which doesn't use compatible X
libraries, they differ in _Xglobal_lock and other two symbols.
u have two solutions:
1) install XFree libraries over the AccelX ones including header files
2) compile AS from the sources
