shared libraries?

	Hey all...I just installed AcceleratedX and it works fine except
when I put in an .xinitrc in my home directory with 'afterstep' in it...I
get this error message upon trying to start the X server:

PCI (#1/0, 80000013)
MATROX,21: 1064SG (4096k @e0000000)
afterstep: error in loading shared libraries
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6: undefined symbol: _Xglobal_lock

is there a way to make it point to a different library or something to fix
this? any help would be appreciated
