I have installed Afterstep 1.4.5.55 and am having problems with it
recognising
changes made in the start menu, after creating the dir's and restarting,
afterstep doesn't re-read the start dir and add the
new menu options.
Changes made to both the home GNU start dir and the /usr/share/afterstep
dir
doesnt take effect, I have also tried the menu option, which updates the
startmenu in "Quit" , "Update startmenu", it does re-start the session
but
upon clicking the left mouse button, no start menu pops up, and then X11
exits
and dumps me in the shell.
I checked the "../non-configurable/tmp", dir and there is a startmenu
file,
there is also a "core" file (i presume X11 created this after dumping me
in
the shell) I had a look in the core file to see it's contents and part
way
through are two interesting lines -
" AfterStep depends on %s directory!
Please check permissions or contact your sysadmin"
this is repeated twice in the "core" file
I have checked permissions on all dirs and root is able to RW to all
including
the startmenu file.
