The log does not contain any errors, does it?
Anyways, I tried to remove the /usr/share/locale
completely and the Afterstep runs just fine.
Of course, I do not have the RedHat RPMs, but still...
Could you send your .xinitrc and .xsession
as well as the contents of the .xsession-errors
file? Maybe those would help somewhat.
