Gentlemen, please....
Emmanuel, please, check that you have the directory
/usr/share/locale
It contains the information for internationalization.
The typical thing to see would be:
albert@albatros[3]% l /usr/share/locale/
da_DK en_CA et_EE fr_FR iw_IL nl_BE ro_RO
de en_DK fi_FI fr_LU ja_JP.EUC nl_NL ru_RU
de_AT en_GB fo_FO gr_GR kl_GL no_NO sl
de_BE en_IE fr hr_HR ko pl sl_SI
de_CH en_US fr_BE hu_HU lt_LT pl_PL sv
de_DE es fr_CA is_IS lv_LV pt sv_FI
de_LU es_ES fr_CH it_IT nl pt_PT sv_SE
You see all those names for the different countries?
I bet Afterstep or X11 is looking for it. If X11 worked
before you installed Afterstep or still works with
some other window manager then it is Afterstep.
Try to locate the place where you have locale's on
your machine. It may be in /usr/lib/locale
Just link /usr/share/locale to /usr/lib/locale
and try again.
Alternatively you want to install all those locale
files. Then just get the RPM that says something
like "POSIX locale definition files" and install it.
I hope I did not say too much wrong in here...
Cheers,
Albert
