By default, there's already a maximize button: right-click on the third
button in from the right. (i.e. the button closest to the title on the
right side).
If you want to adjust buttons on the titlebar, I suggest you read the
latest FAQ for what I _hope_ is a detailed explanation of what you have to
do. There are addresses below for the latest FAQ. If any of it is
confusing, please let me know: I'd like to make it as transparent as
possible.

This is also in the FAQ, actually; but the trick is to edit your autoexec
to set the Pager to load as only one desktop (0 0, where the firsr number
is the number of the first desktop, and the second number is the number of
the final desktop). Don't forget to change the definition in the
"restart" section, too, or you'll get unexpected extra desktops when you
restart.

alt-tab. This is in the default keybindings. You can actually change
these as you like.
