I didn't just post because I was too lazy to attempt to figure it out on
my own, nor am I incapable reading.  I had read, and I had also tried a
number of different things, many of which didn't work the way they were
documented.  For instance - I knew that I needed to select Update StarMenu
or Update Look and Feel for any changes to take place, however, whenever I
did this, AfterStep would lock up and then eventually the X server would
crash.  Is there any documentation on this event?  I don't think so.
Obviously it was not working properly.  I resolved this issue by getting
version 1.4.5.55N6 which fixed the problem.  No thanks to people like you
who don't really have a clue otherwise either.
