FWIW, the new FAQ (it should be eady by the end of the day, presuming I
don't get any more phone calls -- cursed instrument!) has a notation about
this problem (at least I _think_ it's this problem; I'm not really sure
what is being reported here). It has recently turned into a FAQ about
AfterStep. The problem is not actually with AS, but with the installation
of X: many people seem to be skipping the headers, &c., because they're
listed as "optional". Of course, _many_ X programs will not compile
without those libs available, but newer users often don't know that.
That said, I might point out that complaining "it gave me some sort of
error about missing libs" is not a helpful report. If one wants help with
a problem, one might include some detail about what the problem is.
