   u have to increase your bpp value to something higher than 8. for example
 - to run startx with 32768 colors, u'd type: startx -- -bpp 16 of course,
 u can change the number 16 to something higher like 24 or 32.
   to change the color depth globally u can add a line: DefaultColorDepth 16
 to the appropriate section of /etc/X11/XF86Config. be sure to use 
    'man XF86Config'
