asmodem help

All of the applications work except asmodem.
The "xmkmf" command has no errors but when
I run "make", I get the following:

asmodem.c: In Function `MainLoop':
asmodem.c: 308: parse error before `/'
asmodem.c: 332: parse error before `/'
make: ***[asmodem.o]  Error 1

I have updated my libraries but still
get the same error. Did I miss a library
that needs updated ?

This is on a Linux box (2.0.31)

Any help would be appreciated !
