I've been using S3 cards for about 2 years now, both with Linux and
windows (don't ask, not my choice) I've never had anything bad to say
about them, nor have I had any problems with it. I have a virge with
the 3ds or s3d or whatever it is attempt at 3d chipset which does
nothing, but I paid 65$ for it last year, 2mg and I run at 800x600
(crappy monitor, can run 1280x1024x16bpp on higher res monitors) with
24bpp color and it runs quick and doesn't have any glitches that I have
noticed with other cards like Diamond who have specialized chipsets (the
new stealth or 3dfx cards) My recommendation is if you want a cheap
good card, go with S3.
