Wharf modification

Greetings People,
I've looked at the archives and couldn't find the answer to these
seemingly newbie questions, so I'm left to bother you all with this.
First of all, I'm running RH5.0, AfterStep-1.4.5.2, and kernel 2.0.31.
1. I'd like to have my wharf modified so that it contains more icons for
apps and dirs, for eg., netscape, emacs, gimp, and etc. Can somebody
please help me out? As well, is it possible to have the whole column of
wharf to retract? I know in NeXT, you can do this.
2. Right now, I've got nothing in my G/L/AS/ dir save for
the non-configurable dir which contains the desk* and the tmp dirs (this
tmp contains the startmenu file). I take it this is not the correct or
the most efficient way to have my AS configured. What do you guys
suggest?
3. I'd like to use this .steprc file in my home dir, but after several
attempts at trying to have AS use it, it's still no go. Any suggestions?
4. Where should I be installing all these AfterStep apps, for eg., asmail,
astrash, and etc? In my own home dir or somewhere else that the AS
modules are located? Do these apps auto install when you make -install?
5. None of my xterm title bars or wharf icons look to be gradient.
They're all just plain solid blue...how can I change this or customize
this?
I know there are alot of questions here, and feel free to flame
me...perhaps I deserve it, but I'd like to get these issues out of the
way, so I could go back to totally concentrating on my programming
assignments :)
Always With Best,
Steve
