configuration problems

Hey everyone-

I recently installed AfterStep 1.4.55. I am running it on Slackware
Linux. I am running into problems configuring it. I am trying to edit
the "start" directory, but no matter which file I edit (either my
personal file in my home directory or the system file in
/usr/share/afterstep) the changes do not affect the start menu. It
remains the same as the default which came with 1.4.55. Am I editing
the wrong files? Or is the problem more serious? Any help is greatly
appreciated.

Julian
