I am having a similar problem ..Oh BTW this is my first time posting ....I
am really new to Linux so I dont know a lot .I installed from the Red Hat
v 5 cd ..I know I installed X developemt and the C and C++ packages
....When I try to install AfterStep it goes okay until "make" then it
begins to compile but stops from errors retries a few times . Everytime it
stops from errors . Is it possible that the X package didnt install right
? Or that maybe this could be a hardware problem ...Its a really cheap
computer ..Cyrix CPU .....

Also if there is a good book on Linux I could really use it so a name and
author would be great ...I need a book of basics . I didnt even know there
was anything but Windows 2 months ago so needless to say I dont know a lot
about computer O/S's   .....

thanks
Rebecca
