core dump in AS 1.4.5.3/4

The reason for the 3/4 in version is that I have patched to .4,
but the (old) 129 function was removed in .4, so I am using all but
"afterstep" from .4; and yes, this happened prior to this hodge-podge of
versions. :)
I have been getting core dumps with AS as of late. I have the
WPager swallowed in Wharf with one desk @ 2x2, and it appears to happen
when I have been in AS for over 2 days with alot of proggies running in
the "window" I click on. To clarify - when I click on the pager to
switch to this window, it kills AS/X and core dumps. This is the first
time I've tried gdb and here is the output:
[root@cadmando davemann]# gdb afterstep core
Core was generated by `afterstep'.
Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.

I'll be looking more into how to use gdb and what this means, but thought
I'd throw it out here to see if anyone else is proficient with gdb and
could help a virgin gdb'er along with this one. :)
If anyone has experience with debuggin, I'd appreciate any help anyone
could offer.
TIA
