I'd love to. I don't know the details (or much else) about what happened
with Dave, so I'll avoid saying anything about that; I will say that
I've always been enthusiastic about AS- ever since 1.0.

As to what I plan to do, I'd like to get started with 1.8 first, working
on the READMEs and default config files (the comments at least); that
will serve the dual purpose of getting me used to working on the project
as well as the rest of the development team getting used to working with
me *grin*

I'll need to do some reading and playing around with 1.9 before I tackle
that as well.

[snip - I'll keep that as a reference. thanks]

I'll do that. Do you prefer one single patch or individual ones per
file changed? Should I send them to you directly or to the devel list (I've
just subscribed to the latter now)?

Which brings up another question: is there a document somewhere that
details the AS contribution process and if not, would you like there to
be?

Certainly. I don't want to step on anyone's feet here, I just don't know
(and it may be none of my business) what's going on with regards to
Dave; I didn't know /anything/ was going on when I volunteered.

Two sidenotes: First off, I need to finish painting my apartment so I
probably won't start in for a few days. Also, in case you're wondering,
my name is Ian Bennett. Hi.
