Subject: AfterStep and some Applets on a Digital/OSF machine
Dear Sirs,
I'm writing You because in the various Installation files I found that
the OSF system was not explicitly included, and You invited to tell if
Your programs run on other machines. So if this may interest You, I was
able to compile and use AfterStep 1.8.0 on a Digital Unix machine; I was
also successful in compiling and running the following applets: asclock
2.0.12, ascpu 1.9, asmon 0.60, astime 2.6, aterm 0.3.6, ascp 1.0.3,
aspostit 1.3, asbutton 0.3, asfsm 1.0pre15 (with EIGHTBIT only). For all
of them I need not to made any change, simply used ./configure and then
make; during compilation I had sometimes some warning messages, mainly
"subscript has type `char'" in many routines and a lot of "type defaults
to `int' in declaration of `...'" in many definitions inside
/usr/include/X11/Xlib.h ; but they were harmless and every program worked.
Instead the following programs did not compile: ascd 0.13.2, xiterm 2.0 .
Finally the following ones compiled but did not work, because the /proc
filesystem is different under OSF: asload 0.9.4, asmem 1.6, asmounter 0.3,
asfsm_lite 1.0.0 . I'm trying to fix the differences, and in case of
success I can send You the patches if You think it is worth of.
My system looks like:
Digital Unix OSF1 V4.0d with
gcc 2.8.1
gmake 3.78.1
Xpm 3.4
I hope this information may be usefull, and I apologize for my bad English
writing.
Best regards
Mario

I keep trying to locate a meeting of Quantum Physicists Anonymous.
But everytime they set a meeting time the location changes.
And vice versa.
