I can vouch for the truth of this. Changing the configuration mechanism
is hard, boring, and takes forever (I too have spent time on it!). I'm
not willing to pledge the time and effort to switch to XML if I have to
do it all myself... I've already tried, and it's no fun. Only if there's
strong support for XML on the devel team is it worth it, IMO, and I'm
sensing some opposition from Sasha at least.
I still like XML, though, and will probably continue playing with it.
