It's very simple. In fact, my system checks if anything
has to be updated by looking in the directory of the distribution
and comparing it with the record of the last one.
I changed the scripts slightly to retrieve ChangeLog
as well as CHANGES file out of the archive. These are
the apps you see that have ChangeLog instead of CHANGES.
The directories have changed - a new file has appeared -
and you got a mail about it.
I will try to change the scripts so that it notifies you
only if an actual change in the version occured.
