I've installed 1.5beta4, and I'm really happy with it. Other than a
problem with 'asclock', it's been pretty friendly.
I'm happy enough that I'm ready to 'give back to the freeware/open
source' community (as I yell at Albert, my double-yellow-head Amazon,
because he's grazing on the bottom of his cage again!)
I want to put together an "AfterStep for Newbies" document, along the
lines of the online Gimp manual. (Notice, _not_ 'AfterStep for Dummies',
'cause if you're in a position to tinker with AS, you're NOT a dummy!).
I posted earlier about this, and Mr. Guylhem suggested that I take a
shot at updating the 'man' pages.
Well, I dumped the pages to my printer, and actually learned a few
things whilst reading thru them, but I don't feel that writing 'man'
pages is exactly my forte.
I do, however, think I could put together a fairly decent 'User's
Manual', with screen shots and such, that would complement the 'man'
pages and the current FAQ.
I would really like to do this. Unfortunately, I've deleted messages to
the AS mailing list along the way, and there were many valuable hints
passed along in those messages.
Is there an archive of those messages anywhere? I looked on the new AS
homepage, and found none.
Can you give me a clue here?
Thanks,
Dave Walker
