AfterStep Developer Forum

Purpose   The purpose of this list is to facilitate AfterStep development discussions. It is not a user list. AfterStep usage and bug reporting will still occur on the main as-users@afterstep.org mailing list. Please do not let that discourage you from subscribing. If you would like to take part in the actual development of AfterStep, please subscribe to the list. Hopefully, this list will allow us to better coordinate efforts.

Posting   Only members of the AfterStep Developer list and AfterStep Developer digest may post messages, and only from their subscribed email address by sending a message to as-devel@crystaltokyo.com.

Subscribe   There are two methods of accessing the list - the standard method, and digest method. Standard method means you'll get each mail as it is sent by the majordomo; and the digest method send out a bundle of posts on a daily basis.

To receive the AfterStep developer list mail at the address from which you are sending your mail, simply send an email message to majordomo@crystaltokyo.com with no subject and the body of the message: subscribe as-devel. For example:

    mail majordomo@crystaltokyo.com
    Subject:
    subscribe as-devel
If you want to subscribe an e-mail address different from the one you are sending your e-mail from include the e-mail address in the command:
    subscribe as-devel my-address@my.mail.domain
To receive the AfterStep developer digest at the address from which you are sending your mail, simply send an email message to majordomo@crystaltokyo.com with no subject and the body of the message: subscribe as-devel-digest. For example:
    mail majordomo@crystaltokyo.com
    Subject:
    subscribe as-devel-digest
More details are available from http://www.afterstep.org.

Unsubscribe   In most cases, you may simply send a message with an empty subject and words unsubscribe as-devel in the body of the message to majordomo@crystaltokyo.com. For example:
    mail majordomo@crystaltokyo.com
    Subject:
    unsubscribe as-devel
(This command may fail if your provider has changed the way your address is shown in your mail.) To remove an address other than the one from which you are sending the request, give that address in the command:
    unsubscribe as-devel mail_alias@your.domain
Your request will be forwarded to the list owner for approval.
